In consulting, the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts. Consultants, more than most, understand that outstanding client service demands, among other things, a diversity of thought. The collaboration imperative has arrived: According to a recent survey, 97 percent of consultants said collaboration was either “extremely important” or “very important” to their overall business success. In that same survey, consultants said getting the information they needed from clients was their second biggest challenge, behind only getting the clients in the first place.
