Earlier this year Deepti Das worked on a project to launch a digital bank in South East Europe and the work resulted in providing additional banking services for retail and commercial customers and enabled efficiencies in banking processes. “I am extremely proud of this accomplishment given the positive impact our work delivered in driving economic growth of the country whilst introducing a new way of banking,” Das says.
Das is an Associate in the Digital, Technology, Operations and Analytics (DTA) practice and is based in Oliver Wyman’s London Office. Previously at PA Consulting, Das brings years of experience in leading strategy, M&A and operational improvement engagements for global financial institutions.
In addition to the digital bank, she worked on an extremely challenging project of realizing a board mandate of over $1 billion in savings for a global insurer. Due to the scale of the mandate, the project spanned the entire global footprint of the client; including nearly 50 countries.
“We had to identify several strategic opportunities and work with different regional teams to deliver the global mandate,” Das says. “Aligning different regional teams with various goals made me aware of the challenges that businesses face in delivering large-scale transformations which are critical to succeed in today’s business environment. I am most proud of this accomplishment as it gave me an opportunity to extend my knowledge and skills to deliver an impact that would position the client as an industry leader thereby strengthening our position as a trusted advisor.”
She has advised senior leaders across a range of strategic and operational topics to drive performance and growth. Her signature style combines a relentless commitment to delivering client impact with a ‘soft’ understanding of the importance of building a trusted network and co-creating solutions with client teams. She holds Bachelor’s in Engineering and an MBA from INSEAD.
“Our success is underpinned by the success of our clients. Therefore, delivering value to our clients is the biggest motivation on any project,” Das says. “The consulting profession provides the opportunity to work with senior leaders of different industries on highly important issues. The intellectual stimulation, complex problem solving and opportunity to work with industry leaders are the aspects I enjoy most about my work.”
As far as being a Global Leader, Das is “humbled to be recognized as a global leader along with such an inspiring group of people. It reinforces my motivation to continue to excel and deliver great value, which my firm is committed to. Our clients acknowledge the great work that we do for them and see the award as recognition for what they have come to expect from us; excellence in all we do.”
Q&A: What’s been the biggest factor to your success?
Das: “I have been fortunate to have worked with some great colleagues and clients. The mentorship I received early on in my career, along with the support from my team members are the biggest factors that have prepared me to deal with complex and ambiguous issues in a structured way while leveraging capabilities of my team.”
