The company provides strategic thinking and hands-on support to help public companies, fast-growing private companies, and government clients manage growth and maximize performance. The firm delivers strategy, accounting and transaction services, risk and compliance, and information management and technology solutions. MorganFranklin has supported clients nationwide and in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. C.E. Andrews, CEO of the firm sat down with Consulting to discuss the firm’s financial performance.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm’s exceptional growth?
Andrews: Our business model is simple: We deliver smart, creative, driven people with market-relevant skills and capabilities to the right clients. We focus first on having exceedingly strong and capable professionals because the model only succeeds with strong people as its foundation. We determine the market needs—where are companies looking for help to bring them value and make them more successful? We target recruiting and retention of talent that matches those needs. We are then able to attract and retain exceptional clients because we are bringing the people and solutions they need.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Andrews: While this year did not start as strong as last year, it is picking up steam now. We work extensively in the initial public offering space, and the quantity of IPOs in 2016 is materially less than in 2015. We are seeing IPO activity pick up again in the second half of the year, so we expect to finish strong. Deal flow has been on a steady upswing across our commercial and public sectors, and we attribute that to clients realizing the value we provide.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm’s outlook for 2017? Where do you see the most opportunities?
Andrews: We have a bullish outlook for 2017. As stated above, the IPO market is gaining momentum, and our new initiatives in Atlanta and the West Coast are expected to move forward at a rapid pace. In addition, our headquarters market in the D.C. metro area has always been steady and strong for us, and we see no reason for that to change. In fact, the turnover of the presidency always produces a flurry of new opportunities, and we have one of those years coming in 2017. So 2017 should be strong locally and nationally for us.
Consulting: What would you say are your firm’s biggest challenges in 2017?
Andrews: If our bullish outlook turns out to be correct, our largest challenge will be attracting additional talent to successfully execute on the client demand while maintaining our strong culture and commitment to outstanding delivery quality.
Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting’s Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?
Andrews: Of course it is a real honor for our firm and our people to once again be named one of Consulting magazine’s Fastest Growing Firms. We are humbled to be in such company. Our goal is to have great people delivering the highest-quality solutions to our wonderful clients. Growth is not our goal. Growth is the outcome of great people doing great work for great clients.
