A Mixed Bag for Huron's Q2 Revenue

Huron Consulting Group unveiled its second quarter 2012 Financial Results with revenues down 5.5 percent to $144.7 million compared to $153.1 million for the same period last year.

Huron Consulting Group unveiled its second quarter 2012 Financial Results with revenues down 5.5 percent to $144.7 million compared to $153.1 million for the same period last year. Meanwhile, the Company's second quarter 2012 operating income was $14.7 million compared to $22.3 million in the second quarter of 2011.

Revenue was up, however, some 4.4 percent from the first quarter of 2012. And the average number of full-time billable consultants rose 13.3 percent to 1,302 for Q2 2012 compared to 1,149 for Q2 2011.

"Huron's two largest business segments continued to benefit from attractive market conditions," said James H. Roth, CEO and president, Huron Consulting Group. "Our Health and Education Consulting segment again had solid utilization in the second quarter, and we continue to be successful in hiring new personnel to meet market demand.
