Professional services firm CohnReznick has announced the appointment of Alexander Fortner as a Partner in the firm's Risk Advisory practice. Based in Florida, Fortner will advise organizations on strengthening risk management protocols, reporting, controls, and process transformation through technology-enabled solutions.

With more than 15 years of experience, Fortner specializes in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, internal audit, enterprise risk management, and IPO readiness. His background includes advising both public and private entities on complex matters ranging from fraud investigations and financial accounting to transaction-related risks and compliance.

Throughout his career, Fortner has guided numerous companies through the IPO process, helping management teams utilize compliance procedures to drive broader transformation. His work often involves the implementation of process automation and data analytics-enabled controls testing, as well as the development of internal control testing strategies and formal risk assessments.

Before joining CohnReznick, Fortner served as the Tampa Bay Region Market Leader for the Risk Advisory Services practice at a Top 10 firm. He began his professional career in the assurance practice of a Big Four firm, building a foundation in financial reporting and audit engagements reviewed by the PCAOB.

Fortner is a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA) and earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from Ohio University. In his new role, he will support clients within the Florida market as well as organizations across the country.
