The appointment marks a key step in the firm's expansion plans, which include the recruitment of 160 new partners over the next two years.
Leading business and financial adviser Grant Thornton UK has appointed Frederik Vinten as its new chief commercial officer (CCO). Vinten joins the firm's Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) to spearhead commercial growth plans and enhance client engagement across all service lines.

In his new role, Vinten will lead the firm's commercial strategy and drive integrated go-to-market initiatives. The appointment comes during a period of significant momentum for the firm, following recent investment from Cinven and a broader push to strengthen its market position through high-level leadership recruitment.
"Frederik's commercial acumen and global experience will be instrumental in our next phase of growth," said Malcolm Gomersall, CEO at Grant Thornton UK. "His ability to transform strategy at pace will be a major catalyst as we accelerate our momentum and strengthen the impact we deliver for clients across the firm."
Vinten brings more than 20 years of experience in global consulting, financial services, and business transformation. He most recently served as EMEA chief operating officer at FTI Consulting, where he oversaw the firm's corporate operating model. His career also includes roles as a partner at Spencer Stuart, an executive board member at Danske Bank, and head of strategy and M&A at Maersk Line. He began his professional career at McKinsey & Company and later served as a senior advisor at Boston Consulting Group.
The appointment follows the departure of Darren Bear, who is stepping down at the end of the first quarter after a 20-year career with the firm. Vinten's arrival is part of a wider leadership refresh at Grant Thornton UK, which has recently appointed Abigail Fisher as chief people officer and Chris Stefani as CFO. These changes coincide with the firm's ambitious goal to recruit 160 new partners over the next two years.
"Grant Thornton truly stands out as the most dynamic and forward-thinking firm in professional services," Vinten stated. "The exceptional quality of its work, distinctive culture and ambitious plans to redefine the modern profession make this an incredibly exciting journey to be part of."
