New board features former senior leaders from ExxonMobil, Shell and Phillips 66, and is designed to provide strategic guidance to clients facing complex operational and market challenges.

EFESO Management Consultants has announced the formation of a new advisory board for its Energy & Oil & Gas practice, comprised of a group of former senior executives from across the industry. The move aims to strengthen the firm's strategic offerings for clients navigating an increasingly complex energy sector.

The board will work with EFESO's consulting teams and clients to provide insights on operational challenges and performance improvement opportunities. The firm noted that energy companies are currently managing pressures from aging infrastructure, capital constraints and shifting market dynamics, creating a need for experienced guidance.

The inaugural members of the advisory board bring decades of leadership experience from major energy and chemical companies. The members include:

  • Chris Erickson, former executive at ExxonMobil with experience in refining, marketing and engineering.
  • Robert Herman, former President of Refining at Philips 66 and a former ConocoPhilips executive.
  • Dan Coombs, former executive at LyondellBasell and Chevron Phillips with nearly 50 years of industry experience.
  • Bret Woltjen, former Vice President at both Cheniere Energy Inc. and Royal Dutch Shell.
  • Walter Pinto, former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at EnLink Midstream.
  • Lori Fremi, former President of HC Manvel Inc. and a former Deep Water General Manager at Shell.

"By bringing together this collection of experts and combining their knowledge with EFESO's operational improvement capabilities, the Energy & Oil & Gas Advisory Board will directly enhance the results we deliver for clients," said Andreas Doerken, Chief Executive Officer for EFESO. He added that the board's focus would be on "improving reliability, elevating front line performance, and strengthening coordination between maintenance and operation."

The creation of such a board, populated by industry veterans, is a strategic approach consulting firms often use to deepen their domain expertise and increase credibility within highly specialized, capital-intensive sectors like energy. It allows the firm to offer clients not only consulting frameworks but also practical, experience-based perspectives from leaders who have managed similar challenges.
