Consulting Magazine has announced a transition within its Advisory Board, marking the departure of long-serving inaugural board member Sharon Piech and the addition of three new members: John Norkus, Michael Valocchi and Robert Ong.
Consulting Magazine's Advisory Board brings together senior leaders from across the consulting ecosystem to help guide the publication's editorial direction, industry programming and engagement with the global consulting community. The board has served as a strategic "think tank" helping the publication identify emerging trends and develop content and initiatives relevant to consulting leaders.
Sharon Piech Concludes Board Service
Piech, Global Managing Director at Deloitte, has served on the Consulting Magazine Advisory Board since its inception in 2021. During her tenure, she contributed insight on the evolving global consulting landscape and helped inform the magazine's coverage of topics ranging from ESG and infrastructure investment to leadership development.
On her departure, Piech noted, "It has been a privilege to serve on this board and contribute to the vision and growth of Consulting Magazine. I especially enjoyed working closely with the leadership and other board members, and I'm confident this organization will continue to celebrate industry excellence, be the voice of our industry and shape meaningful conversations among the consulting community."
At Deloitte, Piech serves as a Director in the firm's Global Financial Advisory practice and sits on the Financial Advisory Global Executive as Globalization Leader, responsible for driving the firm's global strategy. She also played a central role in developing Deloitte's global infrastructure and ESG offering to address economic growth challenges with equitable and sustainable solutions.

"Sharon has been an unmatched contributor to the Advisory Board and to the broader Consulting Magazine community," said Michael Webb, Director of Consulting Magazine and Advisory Board Director. "Her perspective and deep experience helped shape impactful discussions around the future of consulting. Sharon's influence will be sorely missed, and we are grateful for her insights and leadership on the board."
Three Industry Leaders Join the Advisory Board
Consulting Magazine also announced the addition of three leaders whose experience spans pricing strategy, consulting practice leadership and emerging AI platforms for professional services.
John Norkus, Founder of ChiefPricingOfficer.com is a senior advisor in pricing and commercial strategy. Norkus previously served as a Senior Partner at Deloitte and as Chief Pricing Officer at KPMG, where he led firmwide pricing strategy and commercial transformation initiatives. He has advised Fortune 500 and private equity–backed companies on growth and value creation and is the author of Inside Management Consulting. Norkus is also a recipient of Consulting Magazine's Top 25 Consultant Award.

"I'm honored to join the Board and contribute to a publication that has long helped define and elevate the consulting profession," said Norkus. "Consulting Magazine has been a consistent platform for thought leadership, professional development, and recognition across our industry. My thanks and admiration to Sharon Piech for her leadership and for setting such a strong example of service to the community."
Michael Valocchi, Senior Client Solutions Advisor at Toptal, brings more than three decades of consulting leadership experience. Over the course of his career, he has held senior roles at IBM, PwC and Cognizant, where he served as Head of Consulting for the Americas. At Toptal, he is responsible for establishing and expanding the firm's Management Consulting practice. Valocchi holds a BS in accounting from Saint Joseph's University and has completed advanced management programs at Harvard University, Columbia University and Emory University. He also serves as a guest lecturer at Columbia and Baruch College.

"As a past award recipient, I admire how Consulting Magazine convenes the profession around key industry issues while recognizing experienced and emerging leaders," said Valocchi. "As our industry continues to reinvent, this publication represents an important voice for all of us. I am honored to join this impressive group of consultants as we chart the future of our industry."
Robert Ong is Founder and CEO of Moonnox, an AI operating system designed for professional services firms. Moonnox enables consulting organizations to capture institutional knowledge, embed firm intelligence into revenue-generating activities and adapt their business models as artificial intelligence reshapes the services landscape. Ong previously co-founded CloudMasonry, a Salesforce consulting firm he helped grow from two to 50 consultants in four years, and earlier led digital transformation initiatives at Bluewolf, an IBM company.

"Professional Services is at an inflection point; AI isn't just changing how firms deliver work, it's rewriting the economics of the underlying business model," noted Ong. "I'm excited to join the Advisory Board and collaborate with such a renowned group of consulting leaders, to help firms future-proof their business models and turn what threatens today's operating models into tomorrow's strategic advantage."
"We're excited to welcome John, Michael and Robert to the Advisory Board," Webb said. "Each brings a distinct perspective—from pricing strategy and consulting practice leadership to the transformative impact of AI on professional services. Their insights will help ensure Consulting Magazine continues to capture the most important trends shaping the industry."
The Consulting Magazine Advisory Board brings together senior leaders from consulting firms, technology providers and advisory organizations across the professional services ecosystem. Members provide perspective on emerging industry trends, help inform editorial coverage and contribute to the publication's ongoing engagement with the consulting community.
With the addition of Norkus, Valocchi and Ong, the board continues to reflect the evolving consulting landscape—spanning traditional advisory services, new commercial strategies and the growing role of technology and AI in shaping the future of the profession.
