Acquisition of Richardson Kontogouris Emerson LLP expands the Raleigh-based firm's presence in Southern California, targeting middle-market clients in sectors like manufacturing and real estate.
Raleigh, N.C.-based advisory firm Cherry Bekaert has announced it has acquired Richardson Kontogouris Emerson LLP (RKE), a public accounting and advisory firm located in the Los Angeles area. The deal marks a significant expansion of Cherry Bekaert's footprint on the West Coast.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Torrance, California, RKE provides accounting, tax, financial and litigation support services. Its client base consists primarily of middle-market companies in industries such as manufacturing, consumer products, real estate, construction, and food and beverage.
The acquisition is intended to combine RKE's established regional client relationships with Cherry Bekaert's national resources and service capabilities.

Under the terms of the agreement, Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC will acquire RKE's business advisory, tax and other nonattest services, while Cherry Bekaert LLP will acquire its attest assets. The RKE business will be integrated and operate under the Cherry Bekaert brand.
