Move deepens the firm's capabilities in the UKG Ready platform, targeting small and mid-sized organizations with integrated HR and payroll solutions.
Armanino has announced that the team from Step Up Consulting will be joining the company. The integration is designed to enhance Armanino's Human Capital Management (HCM) technology practice, specifically by adding expertise in the UKG Ready platform for HR, payroll, and workforce management.
The acquisition brings Step Up Consulting's team of specialists into Armanino, adding their experience in implementing and supporting UKG Ready solutions for small and mid-sized clients. This move allows Armanino to offer more comprehensive services that connect HR and payroll functions with broader financial and advisory support.
"Step Up Consulting brings enhanced HCM capabilities that significantly expand the solutions we can deliver to clients," said Matt Armanino, CEO of Armanino Advisory LLC. "Their deep UKG expertise and nimble delivery model strengthen our ability to provide comprehensive, end‑to‑end technology and advisory services."
As part of the deal, Christine Ferns, formerly CEO of Step Up Consulting, will join Armanino to lead its newly established UKG practice. This new group will consolidate the firm's UKG Ready implementation, optimization, and managed services under a single strategy.
For Step Up's team and clients, the integration provides access to Armanino's larger service ecosystem, which includes finance, tax, and other managed services. "Our clients will benefit from Armanino's broad consulting and accounting ecosystem," Ferns stated, adding that the move will also create new growth and training opportunities for her team.
The deal also received positive feedback from the technology partner at the center of the move. "We're grateful for the investment Step Up Consulting has made in building a strong UKG practice that has delivered real business impact for customers, and we're excited to see that commitment recognized by Armanino," said Savas Gunduz, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at UKG.
With the integration, Armanino aims to grow its presence within the UKG partner ecosystem, expand its managed HCM support services, and improve its capabilities in product optimization and payroll tax advisory. The acquisition aligns with the firm's strategic focus on technology-driven solutions for business efficiency and digital transformation.
