11-year Prophet veteran, who served as acting CMO for two years, will lead the firm's global marketing efforts and brand strategy.
Strategy and creative firm Prophet has named Mat Zucker its Chief Marketing Officer. The appointment makes permanent a role Zucker has held in an acting capacity for the past two years.
During his time as acting CMO, Zucker guided the launch of the firm’s new market positioning as “The Uncommon Growth Company.” In his permanent role, he will be responsible for Prophet’s global brand strategy, marketing operations, communications, thought leadership and demand generation.
“Over the last two years, he’s proven he can elevate our brand in the market while building the marketing engine needed to support our growth ambitions,” said Michael Dunn, CEO of Prophet, in a statement. Dunn cited Zucker’s combination of “creative instinct, strategic clarity and operational discipline” as key qualifications for the role.
Zucker will partner with Prophet’s leadership and commercial teams to support growth across the firm's regions and practices. His team was recently involved in assisting the ANA with the launch of its new brand practice.
“My background has always lived at the intersection of creative and strategy, and I’m excited for the opportunity to continue building Prophet’s reputation and demand generation engine,” Zucker said. He noted his focus will be on bringing the “Uncommon Growth Company” positioning to life through the firm’s client work and culture.
An 11-year veteran of the firm, Zucker previously helped build Prophet’s digital marketing capabilities and co-led its global marketing & sales practice for five years. Before joining Prophet, his experience included roles as chief creative officer at OgilvyOne New York and executive creative director at R/GA and Agency.com. He began his career as a copywriter at FCB.
