The transaction services partner and Big Four veteran will be responsible for expanding the firm’s services and client relationships across the private equity community.
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has named Andrew Howson its new UK Head of Private Equity. Howson, a transaction services partner who joined the firm in 2017, previously held senior roles at both EY and Deloitte.
In his new position, Howson will lead the expansion of BDO’s services for the private equity sector and work to develop the firm’s relationships with investors and their portfolio companies. His responsibilities will also include pursuing cross-border opportunities, collaborating with Jamie Austin, who leads BDO’s Global Private Equity initiative.
Since joining BDO, Howson has been a member of the firm’s private equity leadership team.
"My ambition is to strengthen and deepen our existing relationships within the private equity community and establish new connections by bringing the very best of BDO to the market," Howson said in a statement. "We see huge potential to support our PE clients across the whole spectrum of a transaction life cycle.”
Jamie Austin commented that the appointment is a "great progression for BDO and for Andrew as we continue to drive towards our vision of having the best private equity practice on the planet.”
