The professional services firm has hired senior talent from KPMG and Marcum, signaling a strategic focus on technology integration, industry-specific go-to-market execution, and high-net-worth client advisory.
CBIZ announced three senior leadership appointments this week, a move that points to a targeted strategy focused on key growth areas for the professional services sector: artificial intelligence, deep industry specialization and private wealth management.
The new appointments include David Fisher as Vice President, Artificial Intelligence; Bruce Ditman as National Leader, Industries; and Marina Margarucci as National Leader, Private Client Services.
According to Chris Spurio, President of CBIZ Financial Services, the hires are intended to help the firm anticipate and meet evolving client needs. "By adding national leadership for industry specialization, accelerating our capabilities in AI, and strengthening our Private Client Services offering, we are positioning CBIZ to support clients with greater insights, foresight and strategic value,” Spurio stated.

To lead its industry specialization efforts, CBIZ has brought on Bruce Ditman, who previously served as Chief Marketing Officer of Marcum LLP from 2010 to 2021 and was most recently the founder of the growth consultancy Chief Seconds, LLC. This hire reflects a broader trend in the consulting industry where clients are increasingly seeking advisors with deep, specific expertise in their respective sectors.

The creation of a Vice President of Artificial Intelligence role is particularly notable. David Fisher joins the firm from KPMG, where he led the Global Audit Incubation Hub and worked on developing AI products for the Big Four firm's global network. His appointment suggests CBIZ is moving to more formally integrate AI into its service delivery and internal operations. “AI is transforming how professional services firms operate and deliver value,” Fisher said in a statement.

Finally, Marina Margarucci will step into an expanded role as Managing Director and National Leader of the firm’s Private Client Services Practice. This part of the business focuses on multigenerational family advisory and wealth management, a stable and often lucrative segment for professional services firms.
