Deal integrates Acuity's specialized public sector pensions advisory services with the European insurtech firm's technology platform, expanding Lumera's UK team to 165 employees.
Insurtech company Lumera has acquired Acuity, a UK-based consultancy specializing in pensions and workforce reforms for public sector clients. The acquisition is part of Lumera’s strategy to expand its presence in the UK life and pensions industry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Acuity provides consulting services to some of the U.K.’s largest public pension schemes, including the NHS and Civil Service Pension Schemes, as well as central government departments. The firm focuses on complex program management, change management, and communications strategies, blending pensions policy knowledge with behavioral insight.
For Lumera, which focuses on the digital transformation of the European life and pensions sector, the deal provides immediate access to established client relationships and deep domain expertise within the U.K.'s public sector.

He noted that combining Acuity’s public sector experience with Lumera’s technology will create new opportunities for growth in the UK.
Following the transaction, Acuity will be integrated into Lumera’s UK organization. The combined entity will employ approximately 165 people in the region.
