Deal adds a team with deep expertise in project management and community development, bolstering the global consulting firm’s presence in the Western U.S. and Hawaii.

Global consulting firm J.S. Held has announced its acquisition of GLI Advisors, a company specializing in project and community development services. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition is intended to strengthen J.S. Held’s Construction Advisory services, particularly on the West Coast. GLI Advisors provides a range of services including owner's representation, project and construction management, and feasibility reviews for clients across the Western U.S. and Hawaii.

J.S. Held leadership pointed to the hands-on experience of the incoming team as a key factor in the acquisition. "Among the many qualities that attracted us to this acquisition is the team of multi-disciplinary experts who have served in the very roles they now advise," said J.S. Held CEO Lee Spirer. "Their real-world experience brings unmatched authority and perspective to the clients they support."

The move integrates GLI's capabilities into J.S. Held’s Project Support Services division, which provides owner's representation, project management, scheduling and estimating services.

Steve Galash, President and Founder of GLI Advisors, noted the alignment between the two firms. "Our expertise perfectly aligns with that of our new colleagues from J.S. Held," Galash stated. He brings over 40 years of experience, with a focus on managing design and construction for affordable housing projects.

Leaders from GLI expect the integration to provide their team with access to a broader set of resources. "As a part of J.S. Held, we have access to additional technical and financial talent, further enhancing our ability to serve owners, developers, housing authorities, investors and lenders," said Teddy Odgers, a Honolulu-based Managing Director with GLI.
