Professional services firm has appointed Melanie Barnes, Matt Denton, and Kurt Walcutt to lead its Assurance, Growth, and Tax divisions as part of a strategic expansion.
Professional services firm Sikich announced the creation of three new leadership roles within its compliance practice, a move the company says is aimed at strategic growth and increasing market share. The appointments place new heads over the practice's Assurance, Growth and Tax functions.
Melanie Barnes, CPA, will now lead the Assurance practice, with a specific focus on the for-profit assurance segment. With more than two decades of public accounting and industry experience, Barnes will oversee compliance needs for clients, particularly in the middle market.
In another newly created role, Matt Denton, CPA, MBA, will be responsible for leading growth initiatives across the compliance practice. Denton has been with the firm for 12 years and will focus on developing growth strategies for the practice and its clients.
Kurt Walcutt, CPA, will take on leadership of the Tax division. Walcutt brings 35 years of experience in accounting, tax and business advisory services. His background includes tax planning, corporate structuring, and merger and acquisition transactions for clients in a variety of industries.
Richard Lynch, the Sikich principal who leads compliance solutions, stated that the new leadership structure is intended to support the practice's next phase of growth. "I’m confident that this leadership team will infuse innovation and creativity across our practice as businesses continually seek strategic compliance partners,” Lynch said in a company statement.
