Appointment aims to extend the professional services firm’s reach beyond its traditional East Coast markets and deepen recruiting expertise for its finance and banking service lines.
Professional services firm SolomonEdwards has appointed Michelle Chen as a managing partner to lead the expansion of its Professional Search practice. The move signals a strategic push to grow the firm's national footprint and talent acquisition capabilities.
Based in Orange County, California, Chen will be responsible for extending the practice's reach beyond its established markets in the Philadelphia and Tri-State area. A key focus of the expansion will be to deepen the firm’s recruiting expertise in accounting and finance, directly supporting SolomonEdwards’ Office of the CFO (OCFO) and Banking & Financial Services (BFS) business lines.
Chen joins the firm with nearly three decades of experience in the staffing and professional services sectors. In her previous role as Vice President at Adecco, she oversaw the U.S. Search team, during which time the division reportedly increased its headcount sevenfold and its top-line revenue by a factor of five. Chen has also previously launched and sold two companies in the staffing and IT managed services industries.

This appointment is part of a series of recent leadership changes at SolomonEdwards intended to support its growth strategy. These include the promotion of Carissa Robb to managing partner of the BFS practice and the hiring of George Kelly to lead the firm’s OCFO offerings. Together, these moves point to a concerted investment in leadership to drive capability expansion in core service area
