New subsidiary, BDO Government Services, will focus on assisting state and local governments with disaster recovery, federal program compliance and infrastructure projects, absorbing over 700 professionals from the recent expansion.
BDO USA announced the launch of a new subsidiary, BDO Government Services, LLC, aimed at providing advisory services to state and local governments across the United States and Puerto Rico. The move follows the firm's completed integration of HORNE LLP’s government services practice, which was finalized Nov. 1.
The formation of the new entity leverages HORNE’s extensive background in managing large-scale, federally funded programs. According to BDO, the HORNE team has managed more than $126 billion in state and federal funding over the last 15 years, primarily in disaster recovery and program compliance. This experience is central to the new subsidiary's strategy
BDO Government Services will be led by Neil Forbes, a former managing partner at HORNE, who will serve as the National Practice Leader. In his new role, Forbes will guide state and municipal clients through federal programs related to natural disaster recovery, pandemic response and energy initiatives.
"This milestone marks a new chapter, enabling us to deliver even greater value, efficiency, and advanced technology to our clients," Forbes said in a statement.
The subsidiary will focus on program design and administration, compliance management, and technology solutions for government clients. Key practice areas include disaster recovery, energy resilience, health care and infrastructure advancement, with specific expertise in administering CDBG-DR funding and navigating FEMA programs.
With the integration, the combined practice brings together a team of more than 700 professionals. The expansion also represents BDO USA's first direct services offering to the government of Puerto Rico, building on HORNE's established presence in disaster recovery services on the island.
