Partnership integrates Ankura’s advisory services with Coupa’s AI-driven technology platform, aiming to help clients navigate tariff impacts, geopolitical shifts, and other global trade complexities.
Ankura Consulting Group has entered into a strategic alliance with spend management software firm Coupa. The collaboration combines Ankura’s advisory services in risk, compliance, and strategy with Coupa’s AI-powered platform for supply chain management.
The partnership operates on a "Technology + Expert Services" model. Under this arrangement, Coupa provides the technology infrastructure for spend management and supply chain design, while Ankura offers the consulting expertise to guide implementation and strategy. The stated goal is to help organizations better manage supply chain disruptions and optimize their operations in response to a volatile global trade environment.
"By combining Ankura's expertise in risk and compliance, strategic advisory, and supply chain management with Coupa's AI-driven total spend management and digital twin supply chain design, we empower organizations to transform spend data into actionable strategies," said Jorge Chávez, Managing Director at Ankura. He added that the collaboration aims to help clients move "from reactive decision-making to proactive, resilient, and compliant operating models."
A key focus of the alliance is addressing the impact of global trade policy and tariffs. The partnership integrates two specific platforms: the McLarty Trade Compass, a trade intelligence tool from Ankura’s McLarty Associates practice, and Coupa’s Tariff Impact Planning (TIP) application. The McLarty Trade Compass provides real-time data on trade policies, which can then be used within Coupa's application to model different supply chain scenarios. This allows companies to analyze the financial impact of tariffs on sourcing, production, and pricing, and to design more resilient networks.
"By combining our digital twin technology with Ankura's advisory capabilities, clients can rapidly model scenarios, mitigate tariff risks, and balance cost, service, and risk at speed and scale," said Rafael Vasquez, Head of Global Supply Chain Alliances at Coupa. "Together, we're giving enterprises the tools and expertise to compete—not just on efficiency, but on resilience and adaptability in a constantly changing market."
