Acquisition adds specialized technology and data capabilities to Huron’s health care consulting practice, focusing on modernizing claims administration and digital platforms for insurers.

Professional services firm Huron has acquired the payor consulting services division of AXIOM Systems, a health care information technology company. The move is intended to expand Huron’s consulting capabilities within the health care payor sector. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition brings approximately 40 AXIOM employees to Huron. The team specializes in the core operational systems used by health care insurers, including claims administration, data transformation and systems integration. Their expertise covers key industry platforms such as TriZetto’s Facets®, QNXT and HealthEdge solutions, which payors use to process claims and manage member data.

According to Mark Hussey, CEO and president of Huron, the acquisition strengthens the firm's position in the payor market and supports its digital growth strategy. "This acquisition enables Huron to better serve our health care clients seeking to modernize their claims platforms and leverage connected data to improve operational performance and member outcomes,” Hussey stated.

For AXIOM Systems, the move provides an opportunity to scale its services by joining a larger firm. "We are excited to work together to bring an even greater portfolio of tech-enabled solutions to market across the health care continuum," said Paul Lythcke, Executive Vice President at AXIOM Systems.

The newly acquired division will be integrated into Huron’s Healthcare operating segment for reporting purposes.
