Professional services giant is consolidating its business units, including its management consulting arm, under a single brand and creating a new centralized unit for data and AI.
Professional services firm Marsh McLennan announced it will rebrand to Marsh, effective January 2026. The move will unify its four primary businesses—Marsh, Mercer, Guy Carpenter, and Oliver Wyman—under a single name to present a more integrated offering to clients.
As part of the consolidation, the company is also launching a new unit, Business and Client Services (BCS), which will centralize the firm's technology, data, and operations teams. The goal of the new unit is to accelerate investments in AI and analytics across the organization.
"In an increasingly complex environment, clients are seeking advice, solutions and insights that draw on expertise from across our firm,” said John Doyle, President and CEO of Marsh McLennan. “The changes we announce today reflect the way we continue to bring our Company together to better help our clients overcome challenges and find opportunity.”
For the firm's management consulting arm, the changes will be significant. Following a transition period ending in 2027, Oliver Wyman will go to market as "Oliver Wyman, a Marsh business." The broader operating unit, currently known as Oliver Wyman Group, will be renamed Marsh Management Consulting.
The other business units will also see changes. Guy Carpenter will become Marsh Re, and Mercer will adopt the new Marsh brand directly. The company's stock ticker symbol will also change from MMC to MRSH in January 2026.
The new Business and Client Services unit will be led by Paul Beswick, the company's Chief Information and Operations Officer. According to the company, the BCS unit aims to create a data and technology ecosystem that can leverage AI to improve client outcomes and drive operational efficiency.
“The rapid development of AI, and the insights it can derive from our data, will help unlock new opportunities for our clients and colleagues,” said Beswick.
