HKA has announced two senior appointments to its forensic practices, adding Dr. Mohammad Reza Jafari as a principal in Forensic Engineering and Guler Wiefling as a partner in Forensic Accounting and Investigations.

Dr. Jafari’s background includes leading investigations into tunnel collapses, ground movement and foundation failures, applying advanced numerical modeling and field-data analysis, and contributing to multibillion-dollar infrastructure programs in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. He holds a Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering from the University of New South Wales and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge and MITHKA.

Wiefling’s work has included domestic and international engagements across government and private sectors, serving as an independent monitor and advising boards and agencies on strengthening internal controls and remediation strategies; she holds an MBA in finance from the University of St. Thomas and is a Certified Fraud Examiner, fluent in Turkish.
HKA executives welcomed both hires, saying Jafari’s technical depth in tunnels and geotechnical engineering and Wiefling’s forensic accounting and compliance expertise will strengthen the firm’s ability to support clients in high‑stakes disputes and complex investigations.
Both appointments expand HKA’s capacity to deliver multidisciplinary forensic services that combine engineering analysis and financial forensics to resolve disputes, assign liability and support remediation and compliance efforts.
