Dr. Jerome Farquharson, Managing Director, MorganFranklin Cyber.

Appointment aims to bolster the firm's cybersecurity advisory services for clients in the critical infrastructure sector, which is facing increased digital threats and regulatory pressure.

MorganFranklin Cyber has appointed Dr. Jerome Farquharson as Managing Director and Sector Lead for its Energy, Oil & Gas practice. In his new role, Dr. Farquharson will be responsible for the firm's cybersecurity governance, regulatory compliance, and executive advisory services for clients in the utilities market. He will report to Managing Director Ferdinand Hamada.

The move comes as consulting and advisory firms increase their focus on the critical infrastructure space. The utilities market alone is projected to see annual growth of 15-20%, reaching an estimated $110 billion by 2030, creating significant demand for specialized cybersecurity expertise.

Dr. Farquharson joins the firm with more than two decades of experience advising Fortune 500 companies and government agencies on cybersecurity, risk management, and operational resilience. He has served as a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for more than 20 organizations and has experience developing security frameworks for both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) environments. In a previous role, he was responsible for building a consulting practice to over $12 million in annual revenue.

"Critical infrastructure organizations face intensifying threats as they undergo digital transformation," Dr. Farquharson stated in a press release. "My focus will be on helping clients achieve resilience, meet regulatory obligations, and turn cybersecurity challenges into business advantages."

Prior to joining MorganFranklin Cyber, Dr. Farquharson held leadership positions at 1898 & Co., the Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, and the Washington University School of Medicine. He holds numerous industry certifications, including CISSP, CRISC, and CCISO, and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Washington University.
