Kim Sorensen and Pratyush Lal join the management consultancy to grow its digital transformation and AI advisory services, following the firm's recent talent acquisition of Dallas-based Altruas.

Baringa has appointed Kim Sorensen and Pratyush Lal as Partners in its U.S. Digital and Technology practice. The two senior hires are tasked with leading the firm’s expansion in the U.S. market, where demand for digital transformation and artificial intelligence integration services continues to grow.

The appointments follow Baringa's talent acquisition of all staff from Altruas, a Dallas-based digital and technology consultancy, in July 2025. The firm stated the move was intended to expand its delivery capacity and is part of a broader strategy to build out its presence in the United States

Kim Sorensen, Partner, Baringa.

Sorensen, who is based in Houston, brings more than 25 years of experience, with a significant focus on the energy sector. She previously spent over a decade in KPMG’s CIO Advisory practice, where she led large-scale technology transformations. Prior to that, she built a managed services practice at Wipro that supported major capital projects for energy companies.

Pratyush Lal, Partner, Baringa.

Based in Atlanta, Lal has nearly 25 years of experience in digital, data, and AI transformation programs across the retail, manufacturing, telecom and financial services industries. He joins Baringa from FTI Consulting, where he spent more than eight years and led the global Data and Technology Transformation practice.

Mansi Patel, Global Lead for Capabilities at Baringa, noted that the combination of Sorensen’s experience in the energy sector and large-scale transformations with Lal's background in building digital and AI practices will be key to the firm's U.S. expansion.

"I’ve seen firsthand that technology alone isn’t the answer," Sorensen said in a statement. "It’s how you align technology solutions with people, process, and purpose that creates real value."

Lal added that he sees a significant opportunity to expand the firm's advisory digital and AI practice in the U.S. at a time when clients are looking to use AI for strategic advantage.
