Htike Htike Kyaw Soe, Managing Director, Alvarez & Marsal.

Strategic hire signals the firm's continued investment in using AI and data analytics to support M&A and investment strategies for its clients.

Professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Htike Htike Kyaw Soe as a Managing Director in its Global Transaction Analytics (GTA) unit. In her new role, Kyaw Soe will focus on developing and implementing artificial intelligence, technology, and strategic analytics initiatives to support clients throughout the transaction lifecycle.

The appointment is the latest move in a strategic expansion for A&M’s GTA practice. The unit, which provides data analytics services for private equity and corporate clients engaged in M&A and divestments, also brought on Martine In ‘t Veld as a Managing Director in June 2025. These hires suggest a concerted effort by the firm to build out its capabilities in using advanced data tools to inform dealmaking.

Kyaw Soe brings nearly two decades of experience in AI and analytics. Before joining A&M, she built and led a deal analytics team at KPMG, where she worked on projects for both private equity and corporate clients. She was also previously a partner in Meta’s marketing science practice, where she led a global initiative focused on helping clients adapt to industry changes through new marketing strategies.

Firm leadership indicates that the investment in transaction analytics is a response to market demands for more rigorous due diligence and creative value creation. “The dealmaking environment commands enhanced diligence rigor coupled with creative problem-solving and value creation – analytics and AI are key differentiators in that feat,” said Paul Aversano, Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group.

According to Steven Lee, the Global Leader of A&M’s GTA unit, Kyaw Soe’s experience will be particularly relevant for mid-market companies, a segment he noted has been historically underserved by traditional data science. “By incorporating practical analytics into their deal strategies, A&M helps these businesses compete on an equal footing with larger players,” Lee stated.

Commenting on her move, Kyaw Soe cited A&M’s culture and ability to invest in underserved market areas as key factors. “Clients don’t just need more data; they need early, actionable insights that drive transformation and lasting value,” she said.
