J.D. Kearney, Partner, Oliver Wyman.

Former AAI-Partners CEO brings over two decades of manufacturing and operational expertise to the firm's Dallas office, signaling a focus on growing demand within the industrial sector.

Oliver Wyman has appointed J.D. Kearney as a Partner in its Turnaround and Restructuring Practice. Based in Dallas, Kearney will focus on operational performance and profitability for clients in the manufacturing sector.

The hiring comes as consulting firms are seeing increased demand for restructuring services within the industrial and manufacturing space. Kearney’s background in operational turnarounds, supply chain optimization, and M&A within this specific sector points to a strategic expansion of Oliver Wyman’s capabilities to serve these clients.

Tom Hoyland, Partner and North American Head of Turnaround and Restructuring at Oliver Wyman, noted Kearney’s role in meeting this demand. “His track record of improving financial performance, optimizing manufacturing networks, and driving enterprise value creation makes him a key asset as we expand our capabilities to meet growing demand in the industrial sector,” Hoyland said.

Kearney has over 20 years of experience in the field. Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, he was CEO and President of Strategy, Transformation, Turnaround, and Restructuring at AAI-Partners. He has also held leadership roles at EY-Parthenon, where he worked on manufacturing M&A initiatives, and at A.T. Kearney, where he was part of the Manufacturing Center of Excellence. He began his career at Lockheed Martin.

“I am excited to join Oliver Wyman and contribute to a team known for its deep sector knowledge and executional rigor,” Kearney stated. “What motivates me most is the opportunity to partner with clients on their most complex operational challenges and help deliver durable business gains.”
