CMAG: What characteristics and elements would you attribute to your firm’s inclusion as a Best Firm to Work For?
SEI is recognized as a Best Firm to Work For because it blends meaningful consulting work with a supportive, empowering environment, emphasizing local autonomy, people-first leadership, and a culture of ownership and impact. It’s not just a place to work — it’s a place where consultants are trusted, valued, and given the space to grow.
CMAG: Are there any specific programs or initiatives that contributed to you being included as a Best Firm?
The reason SEI consistently earns recognition as a Best Firm to Work For stems from its holistic investment in people. With a balanced approach encompassing professional growth, inclusive culture, employee well-being, and community connection, SEI creates an environment where consultants are valued, empowered, and supported—inside and outside of work
CMAG: In describing your firm, what would you say sets it apart from other consulting firms?
SEI is a people-first consulting firm that stands apart through its locally owned, nationally supported model — combining entrepreneurial agility with the strength of a larger network. Unlike traditional consulting firms, SEI operates with a flat, collaborative structure that empowers consultants with real ownership and autonomy. There’s no bench model or rigid hierarchy; instead, SEI hires intentionally for meaningful, strategic work that aligns with each consultant’s expertise. The firm’s culture emphasizes balance, trust, and long-term relationships — both with clients and employees. SEI consultants don’t just advise; they deliver. From strategy to execution, they design and implement high-impact, customized solutions rooted in deep industry knowledge. With a strong focus on employee development, the company cultivates an inclusive, award-winning workplace. Recognized by Consulting Magazine and U.S. News as a Best Firm to Work For, SEI’s approach fosters continuity, innovation, and meaningful results. It’s not just a consulting firm — it’s a community of professionals driven by impact, collaboration, and purpose.
CMAG: Where your workforce is concerned, what would you say your priorities look like for the upcoming year and beyond?
As we look ahead to the upcoming year and beyond, our culture remains our most valuable asset, and my priorities reflect a deep commitment to the growth, well-being, and engagement of our people at SEI. Fostering a culture of continuous learning and development is essential — we will invest significantly in upskilling and reskilling to ensure our team is equipped to meet the evolving demands of our industry. Equally important is creating an inclusive and diverse workplace where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. We are focused on enhancing equity across all levels of the organization to drive innovation and reflect the communities we serve. Employee well-being is always a priority, and one that will be continued into the new year with wellness programming, team challenges, and a focus on leaning into the work-life balance. Finally, transparency and open communication will be central to how we engage our teams, fostering trust and alignment with our company’s mission and values. By investing in these areas, we aim not only to retain top talent but also to build a resilient and agile organization ready for future challenges and opportunities.
CMAG: What opportunities do you see as the most promising?
From a business outlook standpoint, as we navigate the remainder of this year and move into 2026, I see tremendous opportunities driven by evolving client needs and accelerating technological innovation. One of the most promising opportunities lies in leveraging advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence to deliver more personalized, scalable solutions and operational efficiencies for our clients. By harnessing these technologies, we can enhance our internal capabilities and challenge the ever-changing workforce.
CMAG: What market forces do you see as the most challenging?
From my perspective as CEO of SEI, several market forces present significant challenges as we navigate the remainder of this year and into 2026. First, the accelerating pace of digital transformation across client services demands that we continually innovate and evolve our consulting solutions to meet increasingly complex client needs. Staying ahead means not only adopting new technologies but also helping clients integrate them seamlessly within their existing operations. Second, regulatory pressure remains intense and ever-changing. Our clients face a growing web of challenges daily, which drives demand for our expertise but also requires us to be highly adaptive and proactive in guiding them through these complexities. Finding and retaining the right consultants with deep domain knowledge and technical skills is essential to delivering the high-quality, value-driven solutions our clients expect. Focusing on building out our capabilities will allow us to reach even more client solutions. Lastly, geopolitical and economic uncertainties create a dynamic environment that can impact client priorities and budgets. Flexibility and resilience in our business model are critical to navigating these fluctuations while continuing to deliver impactful outcomes. Despite these challenges, SEI’s strong foundation in client-centric innovation, operational excellence, and trusted partnerships positions us well to turn these market forces into opportunities for growth and leadership in the consulting space.
CMAG: What impact do you think Best Firm to Work For honors will have on your employees? The firm overall? Clients?
Being recognized as a Best Firm to Work For is a tremendous honor that resonates deeply across our entire organization. For our employees, it serves as a powerful validation of the culture we’ve worked hard to build—one that values collaboration, growth, and well-being. This recognition not only boosts morale but also reinforces our commitment to providing an environment where our people feel supported, motivated, and empowered to do their best work. For SEI, this honor strengthens our reputation as an employer of choice in a competitive market, making it easier to attract and retain top professionals who share our values and vision. It fuels our ongoing investment in employee development and innovation, driving operational excellence and long-term business success. From a client perspective, this distinction translates into better service and stronger partnerships. When employees feel valued and engaged, they bring greater energy, creativity, and dedication to meeting client needs. Ultimately, our culture of excellence directly benefits our clients by enabling us to deliver superior solutions and insights that help them thrive in a complex and evolving marketplace.
