CMAG: In describing your firm, what would you say sets it apart from other consulting firms?
Health Data Movers blends the flexibility and agility of a boutique consultancy with the expertise and reliability of a national firm. We are specialists in health care IT.
But what truly sets HDM apart is how we build and nurture relationships. We’re not just advisors, we’re embedded partners who roll up our sleeves and get things done. Our delivery teams are known for being collaborative and solutions-driven. We lead with integrity, always doing what’s best for our clients, even when it’s hard.
Culturally, we emphasize transparency, work-life balance and trust. We attract top-tier talent by offering meaningful work, flexible schedules, and a genuine sense of belonging.
CMAG: Where your workforce is concerned, what would you say your priorities look like for the upcoming year and beyond?
Our top workforce priorities are growth, engagement and long-term retention. As we scale to meet growing demand for health care IT services, we’re focused on hiring people who align with our values and supporting their growth once they’re here.
We’ll continue investing in professional development through enhanced onboarding, leadership coaching, and upskilling in areas like data science and AI. To ensure we maintain our strong culture while growing, we’re deepening our internal communications strategy and refining onboarding processes to help new team members feel connected right away.
CMAG: What opportunities do you see as the most promising?
We see strong demand for data migration and archival services, particularly as health systems consolidate or sunset legacy platforms. There’s also a growing need for strategic Epic support, including managed services, digital front door optimization, and AI readiness.
The increasing adoption of AI and machine learning presents another opportunity, especially around data governance, integration and responsible implementation. Clients are seeking expert partners who can help them operationalize AI in a compliant and scalable way. HDM is well-positioned to lead these conversations thanks to our technical depth and trusted relationships with health care leaders.
CMAG: What market forces do you see as the most challenging?
Budget constraints across health care systems continue to pose challenges, delaying or scaling back investments in IT infrastructure and innovation. This environment requires us to demonstrate clear ROI and help clients prioritize what will deliver the most impact.
Workforce shortages also remain a concern, both within client organizations and across the consulting market. Retaining high-quality consultants, while maintaining culture and quality at scale, will require ongoing effort. Additionally, the fast-moving AI landscape brings both opportunities and regulatory uncertainty. Our challenge is helping clients responsibly embrace innovation without increasing risk.
CMAG: What impact do you think Best Firm to Work For honors will have on your employees? The firm overall? Clients?
Being recognized as a Best Firm to Work For is a meaningful validation of the culture we’ve intentionally built. For employees, it reinforces that their voice, work and well-being truly matter. It’s a source of pride to be part of a company known for doing right by its people.
For HDM as a firm, the recognition strengthens our ability to attract and retain exceptional talent while standing out in a competitive market. It also builds internal momentum to keep investing in culture and people-first policies.
For clients, it’s another signal that they’re working with a trusted, values-driven partner. A strong, happy team delivers better outcomes and our clients feel the difference in every interaction. Ultimately, this honor reflects the human side of consulting: connection, care and shared purpose.
