CMAG: What characteristics and elements would you attribute to your firm’s inclusion as a Best Firm to Work For?

Chevo's Corporate Culture drives our entire business and business philosophy and is built on respect, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in every interaction with clients and with each other. Our culture is based upon Six Pillars: Client Satisfaction, Communications, Consultative Approach, Personal Effectiveness, Teamwork and Leadership. Implementing this culture starts with our rigorous candidate screening, interviewing and hiring processes.

We value hiring dedicated employees who want to grow and advance, while possessing a client first mantra. We train all staff in our six pillars of our corporate culture, and how best to deliver consulting services that exceed client expectations. We train our consultants to ensure they are developing the hard and soft skills to progress in their careers both professionally and personally. Our Engagement Leaders create a collaborative environment to deliver consulting services, while engaging our staff in corporate activities and strategic efforts. Our teams have outings to get to know each other better and to further develop a team atmosphere. Chevo conducts All Hands meetings twice a year where we discuss the company financials, business development efforts, corporate outreach and corporate administrative efforts. We hold a summer picnic to bring employees and their families together and hold an annual holiday party in January for each employee and their significant other to celebrate the year and holiday season.

Chevo provides competitive compensation and has a Recognition, Awards, and Bonus Program to celebrate the great work of our consultants. These elements packaged together comprise Chevo’s Corporate Culture and the reason we have been listed as a 2025 Best Firm to Work For for the third consecutive year.

CMAG: Are there any specific programs or initiatives that contributed to you being included as a Best Firm?

There are three specific programs that our employees value which contributed to Chevo being included as a Best Firm:

  • Consulting “The Chevo Way” training course: Our in house developed training course is required for all new employees and provides them with an understanding and the practical application of how our company culture embodies our client support. We train all consultants in the Six Pillars of Chevo's Corporate Culture and how to be an effective consultant based upon these pillars. It is an opportunity to refresh and strengthen our employees’ consulting skillsets as aligned to Chevo’s mission and business practices. It provides an opportunity for our employees to engage with your colleagues in a smaller setting.
  • Engagement with employees: We have multiple programs to ensure our employees collaborate and network internally (e.g., Lunch and Learns, Practice Area meetings, semiannual All Hands meetings, and multiple corporate events). Our employees appreciate the opportunities that Chevo offers to encourage participation outside of regular team engagement.
  • Support of charities: We believe it is important to give back to the communities that we serve. We provide charitable support through Chevowide activities and encourage and highlight those who make individualized contributions.
CMAG: In describing your firm, what would you say sets it apart from other consulting firms?

Chevo is committed to putting client priorities first—adapting quickly as needs evolve and proactively identifying potential roadblocks. We deliver solutions that align with contract parameters while continuously seeking ways to enhance support and add value. Our teams work side-by-side with clients to tackle their most pressing challenges, helping them achieve strategic goals and fulfill their mission. At Chevo, collaboration is not just encouraged—it is embedded in our culture. We foster a team-oriented, cross-functional environment that prioritizes partnership over competition, ensuring every solution is driven by shared success.

CMAG: Where your workforce is concerned, what would you say your priorities look like for the upcoming year and beyond?

As we continue to grow, we are focusing on three core areas of development for our employees:

  1. Talent Development and Skills Building: Increasing staff skills and certifications •Enhancing our consultants' soft skills and expanding their knowledge base •Training our Project Managers to lead successful engagements
  2. Knowledge Sharing and Internal Learning: Lunch and Learns to share knowledge •Increasing our staff usage of internal certifications and bootcamps
  3. Innovation and Service Excellence: Exploring how to strategically integrate AI into every client engagement and elevate our consulting service delivery.
CMAG: What opportunities do you see as the most promising?

Unlocking Operational Integrity: Chevo can utilize our deep expertise to help our clients eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse by leveraging the appropriate technology for each client’s environment. We anticipate these efforts will not only strengthen oversight but also unlock opportunities for smarter, more efficient operations.

Translating Policy into Progress: As legislation and Executive Orders evolve, we will continue to guide our clients through the complexity by assessing the impacts across people, process and technology. Our support enables our clients to turn regulatory change into a strategic advantage, ensuring compliance while driving innovation.

Shaping Strategy with Purpose: We continue partnering with our clients to define their strategic direction, build actionable plans delivering immediate, innovative results. By aligning vision with execution, we can help clients seize opportunities, navigate uncertainty and lead with clarity.

CMAG: What market forces do you see as the most challenging?

A few of the most significant market forces that present the most pressing challenges are as follows:

Technical Disruption and Digital Transformation: Rapid innovation, particularly in AI and automation, is changing everyone’s expectations faster than many organizations can adapt. Determining how to leverage AI in the most practical, productive and ethical manner, while balancing cost, governance and risk, is a significant challenge for organizations striving to remain competitive and compliant.

Regulatory and Compliance Changes: Evolving regulations around data privacy, sustainability and cybersecurity require continuous monitoring, quick adaptation, and sometimes significant investments to ensure compliance while minimizing operational disruptions. We must stay abreast of new legislation and Executive Orders, assessing the impact on our clients, and determining how best to help them change and evolve in alignment with new funding and direction of the administration.

Talent Shortages and Workforce Dynamics: Attracting and retaining skilled talent in a competitive labor market remains difficult, especially in technical and analytical roles. Additionally, shifting workforce expectations around flexibility and remote work adds complexity to workforce strategies.

CMAG: What impact do you think Best Firm to Work For honors will have on your employees? The firm overall? Clients?

Retention of current staff: This award reinforces our commitment to a corporate philosophy that prioritizes employee retention and delivery excellence, both are key drivers in our ability to better serve both existing and future clients as we continue to grow.

Hiring: This award strengthens our ability to attract top-tier talent by hiring individuals who are driven to uphold our high standards for client satisfaction and service excellence.
