Horacio Gomez, Senior Managing Director, Ankura Consulting Group, LLC.

Advisory firm Ankura Consulting Group has announced the launch of a new business consulting practice dedicated to Latin America. The move signals the firm's intent to expand its footprint and service offerings to clients operating in the region.

The new practice will be led by Senior Managing Director Horacio Gomez, who is based in Houston. With over two decades of experience in global strategic advisory, Gomez will focus on business transformation and operational excellence for clients. His role will also involve developing business relationships with Latin American companies conducting business in the United States.

Joining the practice are two new managing directors based in Monterrey, Mexico. Javier Marcelo de la Garza brings more than 17 years of experience in strategy consulting and operational transformation, with a focus on the manufacturing, consumer goods and food service industries. Jorge Chávez has over 13 years of experience in supply chain strategy, procurement and post-merger integrations, primarily within the manufacturing and retail sectors.

The new practice aims to build on Ankura's existing services, which include transformation and change management, geopolitical advisory and strategic communications.

"Our new Latin America practice underscores our dedication to delivering tailored solutions for clients navigating increasingly complex business, policy and reputational landscapes worldwide,” said Fernando Batlle, Ankura's Head of Global Strategic Advisory and Chairman of Latin America & Caribbean. He noted that the expertise of the new hires in strategy, operations, and supply chain management will be key to serving clients in the market.
