Financial economist brings over two decades of experience in complex securities litigation and valuation to the firm's San Francisco office.
The Brattle Group has named financial economist Ravi Sinha as a Principal and Co-Leader of its Securities Class Actions practice. Based in the firm's San Francisco office, Sinha will also support the firm’s practices in Credit, Derivatives & Structured Products, Financial Services & Markets, and M&A Litigation.
Sinha has more than 20 years of experience in financial and valuation issues related to complex securities litigation. His work has included advising law firms and experts on matters involving debt, equity and derivative securities, where he has analyzed discounted cash flow (DCF) valuation and other methods for calculating damages.
"Ravi adds to our existing depth in securities class actions – including Rule 10b-5 and Section 11 matters – and has extensive experience successfully leading case teams in addressing issues related to loss causation, market efficiency and intellectual property,” said Torben Voetmann, Brattle President & Principal.
Sinha's valuation experience also covers merger and acquisition disputes, intellectual property cases involving intangible assets, and matters concerning private equity and structured finance instruments like collateralized debt obligations (CDOs). His industry experience includes work in financial institutions, consumer products, technology and pharmaceuticals
