Elizabeth Goodman, Senior Managing Director, FTI Consulting.

Appointment of Elizabeth Goodman, an expert in health insurance and policy, signals the firm's continued investment in its advisory services for clients navigating complex regulatory and business environments.

FTI Consulting has appointed Elizabeth Goodman as a Senior Managing Director in its Healthcare and Life Sciences practice, a specialized group within the firm’s Strategic Communications segment. Based in Washington, D.C., Goodman brings over three decades of experience in health policy and law from both the government affairs and operational sides of the industry.

Goodman’s background includes senior roles that provide a dual perspective on the challenges facing health care organizations. She previously served as Chief Legal and Public Affairs Officer for Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA), a health plan focused on individuals with complex medical needs. Before that, she was the Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and Innovation at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), the primary trade association for the health insurance industry. This combination of experience provides an inside view of both how policy is shaped at the national level and how it is implemented on the ground by payers and providers.

In her new role at FTI, Goodman will advise senior executives on managing business and reputational risk amid shifting political and regulatory landscapes. Her work will focus on helping health care and life sciences clients balance brand development, stakeholder relations and financial performance.

"Everyone in health care is grappling with mounting pressures, including regulatory shifts, evolving care models and changing patient, payer and provider expectations," Goodman said in a statement.

Goodman's hire is part of a broader expansion within FTI's Healthcare and Life Sciences practice. The firm noted it follows several other recent appointments in public affairs and corporate reputation, including Shelley DuBois, Brian Doheny and Audrey Jackson, among others.

"Liz is an accomplished leader and brings with her a deep understanding of the health care industry and its evolving business and regulatory environment,” said Lauren Crawford Shaver, Americas Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences for FTI's Strategic Communications segment. Shaver added that Goodman will work with the firm's multidisciplinary teams to help clients with growth strategies, crisis management and business transformation.
