Vijay Bondada, Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, BRG.

Former chief litigation officer, with senior legal experience at Pfizer, Duke Energy and Consolidated Edison, joins the consulting firm as a managing director to expand its client base in complex investigations and litigation.

Consulting and expert services firm BRG has appointed Vijay Bondada as a managing director and associate general counsel in its New York-based Business Development group. Bondada will be tasked with driving strategic growth for the firm’s Disputes & Investigations practice.

Bondada joins BRG with over two decades of experience in senior legal roles at major corporations. He most recently served as vice president of Energy & Environmental Law at Consolidated Edison. Prior to that, he was the chief litigation officer at Duke Energy Corporation and a vice president and assistant general counsel at Pfizer. His background covers enterprise litigation, compliance, and regulatory risk management across the health care, energy and financial services sectors.

Throughout his corporate career, Bondada managed large legal teams and was involved in securing multibillion-dollar settlements and significant insurance recoveries related to environmental, D&O, and other business interruption risks. This experience of navigating high-stakes legal challenges from within a corporation is what BRG is looking to leverage for its clients.

"Vijay brings the kind of senior-level experience and strategic thinking that our clients need in today's complex regulatory environment," said Ray Kolls, a managing director and global co-leader of BRG's Economics, Disputes & Investigations business line. Kolls noted that Bondada's relationships and understanding of corporate needs will "immediately enhance our ability to connect with clients who value both technical expertise and strategic guidance."

The move to bring in a former in-house legal executive for a business development function signals a focus on building relationships with corporate leaders based on a shared understanding of their internal pressures and challenges.

"My role in business development will focus on building strategic relationships with corporate leaders who need partners capable of transforming complex disputes into opportunities for organizational resilience and growth," Bondada stated.

Bondada’s appointment is part of BRG's broader effort to expand its disputes and investigations practice to meet what it identifies as growing client demand for integrated advisory services that address both legal and business issues. He holds a JD from Temple University and is certified by the National Association of Corporate Directors.
