Recently promoted to managing director in Protiviti’s Risk & Compliance consulting practice, Kunal focuses on risk management within the financial services industry. Kunal has spent 12+ years leading projects in enterprise and operational risk management, bank operations, first line business risk, change management, consumer compliance, risk reporting and GRC (governance, risk and compliance) tool design and implementation. Prior to joining Protiviti, he spent several years in risk management at a large U.S. bank holding company.

Kunal excels at helping organizations manage and mitigate risk, improve operations and enhance customer experiences. In addition to his retail banking background, he has experience in intellectual property and intangible asset analysis and valuation.

Kunal is an empathetic leader who is passionate about coaching and developing others to realize their professional aspirations. He takes a people-first approach to leadership and networking, and builds authentic relationships with clients, colleagues and those in his local community. He also leads Protiviti’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the Austin market.

Kunal earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a certified Associate in Risk Management.
