O’Malley’s expertise spans SciVida’s core service areas of commercial strategy, pricing and market access, and business development and he is well-versed in a wide array of client business needs. He has a strong track record in launch planning, competitive positioning, demand assessment, tracking patient journeys, clinical development planning and new product strategy.
O’Malley began his career in the laboratory conducting bench research in molecular and cellular biology before pivoting to the business world. On top of working in life sciences consulting for nearly 15 years, he spent three additional years at a leading biotech company in a market planning role, so he brings a unique perspective to client engagements having worked on both sides as well as in the science itself.
“Having previously worked on the client side, I’m always trying to think through the decisions that face our specific clients and how our work is going to be used in the wider organization,” O’Malley said.
O’Malley is known for building strong teams from the ground up, with deep involvement in talent strategy and recruiting as well as in training consultants in key consulting tools and methodologies for strategic analysis, qualitative and quantitative market research, revenue forecast modeling and data analytics. O’Malley’s addition to the SciVida team is an important milestone as the firm sets the foundation for a growth year ahead.
O’Malley earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in history, both with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin and his MBA with concentrations in both finance and strategy from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business.
