HKA, a leading global consultancy in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness and litigation support services, announces that Peyman Tabatabaei has joined HKA's Forensic Technical Services (FTS) practice as a Director based in Los Angeles, California.
"Peyman's geotechnical engineering experience and expertise in the United States, Canada, and overseas is a welcome addition to our growing Forensic Technical Services (FTS) practice as we expand capabilities with new and existing clients," said HKA Partner Michael Griffin.
Peyman brings more than 20 years of civil/geotechnical experience and has worked on a wide range of infrastructure, residential and commercial developments, transportation and road projects, including natural and man-made slopes, shallow and deep foundations, earth dam design and safety reviews. He has completed geotechnical investigation reports and performed detailed liquefaction analyses, slope stability modeling, monitoring and assessments, limit equilibrium modeling, and deformation analysis for numerous high-profile civil infrastructure projects.
At HKA, Peyman will analyze and evaluate geotechnical engineering issues and develop expert opinions on the factors that lead to a deficiency or failure and the parties responsible. He will also develop forensic engineering reports summarizing the facts, analyses, and tests performed to present expert findings and opinions.
Peyman noted, "I am thrilled to embark on this journey with HKA. Joining this innovative team is not just a career move; it's a step into a world of exciting challenges, endless possibilities, and the chance to contribute to cutting-edge solutions."
Peyman is a licensed professional engineer in California, Iowa, Alberta, and British Columbia and has held several geotechnical engineering positions throughout the world, including Kleinfelder, Atkins/SNC-Lavalin, Flour Canada and E2K Engineering, Ltd. He is a member of the Calgary Geotechnical Society (CyGS), fluent in Farsi, and earned a master's degree in soil mechanics and foundation (geotechnical) engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in civil engineering.
