Global consulting firm Berkeley Research Group (BRG), has announced the appointment of European energy industry expert, Daniel Muthmann, as managing director in its Energy & Climate advisory and disputes consulting practice. Mr. Muthmann will have lead responsibility for the Energy & Climate team's activities in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Mr. Muthmann will join BRG on Jan. 1 2023 and be based in Germany. He has 25 years of experience in the international energy industry, having held numerous senior executive positions within hydrogen, natural gas, and LNG value chains in leading international energy corporations, including Ruhrgas, E.ON and BP. Mr. Muthmann was also the founder and managing director of a global gas sector advisory company and has extensive experience in providing international strategic advisory support, as well as industry and commercial expert services in numerous international arbitration matters.
Most recently, Mr. Muthmann served as the founder and chair of the European Hydrogen Backbone Initiative in Brussels, and head of corporate development, energy policy and communications for Open Grid Europe (OGE) in Germany, a leading European gas transmission system operator (TSO) in the field of hydrogen and CO2 transportation.
