What's the best advice—consulting or otherwise—you've ever received?

Throughout my career, I have worked with many great executives who have been mentors or coaches. Though advice comes from different perspectives and experiences, there are some consistent messages I have taken away: Maintain focus on the objectives. Answer the questions that were asked. Strive to leave in a different place than you arrived — this will guarantee the growth and transformation to continue moving forward.

What advice would you give to a female consultant just beginning her career?

I have been fortunate to mentor and coach multiple emerging women leaders as the global sponsor for Capco's gender affinity network. I'll use this as an opportunity to replay advice shared during our conversations: Lead with your expertise and be consistent in your interactions; Know your network and determine how you can leverage those around you to help position yourself for success; Remember the value that you bring to the table and remind yourself that you deserve to be there; Focus on what's in front of you, don't anticipate or worry about things outside of your control; Always actively manage your career.

What does being honored as a Woman Leader in Consulting mean to you?

Capco nominating me for this award has a unique meaning given I have grown from a junior consultant to partner at the firm. It shows the trust, loyalty, and partnership that has grounded my professional journey. Receiving the award recognition is a great career milestone that affirms my current accomplishments and builds confidence in my future trajectory. Being known as an 'Excellent Leader' amongst my industry peers, provides a responsibility to continue to empower others to reach their fullest potential across client services, program delivery and people development. This responsibility motivates and excites me for future endeavors, relationships and career goals.
