CMAG: How would you say you've managed to stay among the industry's Best Small Firms to Work For amid these unprecedented times?

At risk3sixty, we focus on doing meaningful work that reverberates throughout our company, from how we provide services to how we hire and train our employees. In addition, we find that a high level of internal transparency with our employees allows us to maintain strong relationships within our organization. Also, our dedication to employee development and appreciation for those who have stayed with the company has helped us build a team of Strange Renegades.

CMAG: Were there any specific programs or initiatives (internal or external) that contributed to you being a Best Small Firm to Work For?

We have several internal programs that we have throughout the year that makes us one of the Best Small Firms to Work for. These programs are based on our Core Values of Grit, Craftsmanship, Steadfast, Freedom, and Team. Our programs include a journeyman program which helps develop our team members and help build their consulting careers. Another is continued education through Certifications and professional growth through seminars and classes that we pay for our consultants.

CMAG: What's unique about your firm? What sets it apart?

What sets risk3sixty apart from other consulting firms is our dedication to work-life balance for our employees. We provide unlimited time off, paid parental leave, and a sabbatical program for all employees with the company for over five years. Our Office Culture is also unique, with an inclusive work environment in which we encourage our employees to be their true selves.

CMAG: What's the top priority over the next 6 to 12 months?

Risk3sixty has launched the first free GRC tool in the industry. The Phalanx GRC platform is built by the craftsmen at risk3sixty. It is the result of delivering hundreds of security and compliance assessments and tens of thousands of person-hours of helping companies build, manage, and maintain their security and compliance programs. This expertise and knowledge is built into the application through simplified self-assessments, easy-to-understand remediation recommendations, standardized risk ratings and prioritization, and a structured approach to managing and maintaining security and compliance activities.

CMAG: When you look at the remainder of this year and 2023, what excites you? What opportunities do you see in your future?

For the remainder of the year and well into 2023, we will be working hard to make Phalanx as good as it can be for our internal team and clients. Implementing security and compliance programs is complex and requires expertise to do it right. While other platforms promise a silver-bullet approach to achieving compliance, Phalanx GRC is designed to make the complex simple without sacrificing quality or conveying a false sense of security.

CMAG: What impact do you think being a Best Small Firm to Work For has on the firm? Employees? Clients?

Being one of the Best Small Firms to Work for is a great honor for risk3sixty. It has shown that our hard work and dedication to our team are valid. It will help us in many ways, including the ability to recruit top cyber security professionals as well as validate our position as thought leaders to our potential clients.

CMAG: Thank you, and congratulations.
