CMAG: How would you say you've managed to stay among the industry's Best Firms to Work For amid these unprecedented times?
We care deeply for our people, our clients, and our communities. This is inherent in our DNA individually and as a firm. It is evident in our Core Values of Personal Respect and Teamwork and is displayed in our working policies, procedures, and, most importantly, our daily interactions.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and still today, we have listened to and learned from our People in developing our Hybrid Work vision and benefits, tools, and trainings to address the unique challenges we and our clients all face. We lean into our Core Values of Common Sense and Professionalism to support each other.
Internally, we lead by example, and this enables our People to best serve our clients who are dealing with similar challenges.
Were there any specific programs or initiatives (internal or external) that contributed to you being a Best Firm to Work For? At our Global Team Meeting in Miami this year, nearly 2,000 colleagues came together in person for the first time in three years. The milestone event closed out our 40th anniversary celebration with a viewing of the "AlixPartners at 40 Years" documentary. Commissioned by our founder, Jay Alix, this is the story of how AlixPartners colleagues faced the greatest crisis in a generation, reinvented how we work together, delivered memorable results for our clients and became more connected in the process.
Examples of our emphasis on connection are found everywhere. From our Well@Work discussion forums centered around physical, emotional, or financial well-being topics to our Social Impact plans aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals set forth by the United Nations Global Compact. Our recently released Social Impact Annual Review highlights all we are doing to support our people, mobilize for our community and support our clients.
CMAG: What's unique about your firm? What sets it apart?
Our culture is built on being Values-Based, Client Focused, and People Centric. These principles give us a stable foundation to address any challenge head-on. We are not afraid to ask difficult questions, to think differently, to talk about topics that matter, and to take action to bring about change when thinking and talking are not enough.
While we do not have all the answers, we employ our Core Values of Communication and Commitment to be open, to encourage dialogue and provide opportunities to share our views.
We thrive in "When it really matters" situations and have done just that in the face of intense disruption that shows no signs of easing. Each peak, valley, twist and turn represents a moment that matters to our people, our clients, and our community and we are there for every one of those moments.
CMAG: What's the top priority over the next 6 to 12 months?
We will continue to prioritize our people and our clients. Central to fulfilling this promise is our laser focus on attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent and creating an environment that embraces the unique differences among us. Every day we will move further along on our journey to open the culture, engage leadership, and expand the employee base. Whether through our Employee Resource Groups, Global Sponsorship Program, Growth Circles or Global Dignity Partnership, each colleague will continue to have the opportunity to feel a sense of belonging and pride in themselves, in their colleagues, and in the firm.
CMAG: When you look at the remainder of this year and 2023, what excites you? What opportunities do you see in your future?
In a world where disruptive forces are only increasing in intensity and regularity, companies are dealing with new and unusual challenges. AlixPartners is no different. As we reflect on the AlixPartners we are today and what we aspire to be, our growth strategy, which we refreshed this year, requires us to be bold. It requires us to face our challenges head on and to preserve our distinctive edge. Most importantly, it requires us to remain united as One Firm for each other and our clients.
Our People know that challenging times are exciting times. It's through challenge that we grow the most as companies and as individuals. AlixPartners is uniquely positioned to dig in and do important work when the stakes are high. We are ready for the adventure.
CMAG: What impact do you think being a Best Firm to Work For has on the firm? Employees? Clients?
Recognition as a "Best Firm to Work For" signals that the firm is fulfilling its commitment to being people-centric. Current employees recognize our efforts and inspire us to keep going. This starts the virtuous cycle where attracting, developing, and retaining the best people enables AlixPartners to deliver exceptional results for our clients when it really matters.
CMAG: Thank you, and congratulations.
