Thought Ensemble

Future Leader

Alyssa Martin has been helping clients navigate complex business challenges since 2010. Her career began in an advertising agency as she partnered with clients to leverage storytelling as a vehicle for growth. After developing a new revenue stream for the agency, she took a leap of faith into the technology startup ecosystem helping founders grow their business through fundraising, GTM excellence and operational optimization. In 2017 she took her unique perspective on business and shook up the consulting industry where she both led engagements for Fortune 100 clients and established her position as a business development leader. Today, she proudly works for Thought Ensemble, a Pariveda company as both a Senior Manager and Director of Growth Operations. Alyssa is also the proud mommy of her 2-year-old son Jack and has another little guy on the way!

What has been the biggest factor in your success so far?

The biggest factor in my success so far is having a unique collection of mentors who have been willing to give me honest, constructive feedback. This, paired with making mistakes, and having the opportunities to run and 'fail fast' have given me the confidence to move the needle for my clients and employers.

What do you enjoy most about your career in the consulting industry?

Consulting at the core is a HUMAN business – no matter how technical the work may become – it's about helping people succeed in their projects, their roles, and their careers. In the last decade, I have come to realize that 'helping others grow' is my personal mission in life and so I find really beautiful alignment in this with the industry.

What is your proudest achievement to date?

My proudest achievement to date is navigating a job search in the pandemic with a newborn. Through my relationships, I was able to engage in meaningful subcontract work while carefully ensuring that the organization I joined next would be the right fit for me and my family. Due to the supportive nature of the organization, I was able to hit my goal of bringing in a brand-new client with the first six months of employment.

What's the best advice you've ever been given?

"How you do anything is how you do everything." We often take the little decisions we make for granted, but it's the summation of little decisions that effectively comprise our entire moral compass and the experience we create for those in our orbit. I find this to be true, particularly in the consulting industry and achieving true client excellence.

What does being honored as a Women Leader in Technology mean to you?

This recognition means that building a career grounded in helping others is not a lost or silly cause and that a young woman trying to navigate a pandemic, motherhood, and a career can succeed by listening to her instincts.
