What has been the biggest factor in your success so far?
Support. Whether that support was from coaches and mentors that provide guidance on a situation, a leader that saw a 'spark' in me and gave me a chance and, most importantly, the unrelenting support of family. That love and support has allowed me the opportunity to do what was needed to be successful in the consulting industry.
What do you enjoy most about your career in the consulting industry?
No day is the same! When you start your day you know that you will learn, grow and take on new and different things. There's absolutely no 'cookie cutter' days and that makes each and every day something unique.
What is your proudest achievement to date?
I believe the proudest achievement to date has been the work I've done to grow and expand our organization's technology stack. We started with one small step into a Microsoft partnership and last year we were able to take that to a, now, trademarked product. There's something about the whole process that when I step back, I realize that all of those baby steps of progress really added up to something wonderful. And, it's been great to take that progress, use the connections and now turn that into conversations, at the C-Level, about driving gender equity and inclusion.
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
Always be yourself and never allow anyone, or any situation, to change who you are. All too often, we see people try to change who they are to obtain a role or 'fit in' to a new core group. Even in a situation where your opinion, morals or faith may be different, and it feels uncomfortable… keep being who you are! Never change just to accommodate a situation.
What does being honored as a Women Leader in Technology mean to you?
Being recognized for this award shows all of the hard work, dedication, and commitment I've made throughout my career have been noticed. It's been a pleasure to evolve into my role of Vice President of Technology at Divurgent and to be named a Women Leader in Technology, is an absolute honor.
