The 2022 Women Leaders In Technology: Sujata Banerjee

Sujata is part of the leadership team in the financial services practice at Infosys Consulting with extensive experience in banking and consulting in the areas of regulatory compliance, consumer and corporate banking, and capital markets. She leads the digital risk advisory practice.

She serves as a senior client advisor, nurturing client relationships and leading delivery of large business transformation programs. As a compliance digital advisory leader, she builds innovative solution offerings and go to market strategy, provides subject matter expertise and showcases Infosys thought leadership.

She manages and mentors teams of consultants across the practice and engagements. She also plays an active role in the Infosys Global Consulting Diversity Council leadership.

What has been the biggest factor in your success so far?

I will call out two factors because I believe both have been equally important for my success in consulting. The first is having an open and flexible mindset. In other words, being fearless, being an innovator, and open to taking on work which is outside of your comfort zone. This has been key to learning, visibility, growth and adding value for our clients.

The second is seeking out a mentor or sponsor who believes in your potential. In my experience, they will help you navigate your career journey, encourage you to take on new projects to grow, and be an advocate for you when needed.

What do you enjoy most about your career in the consulting industry?

I truly enjoy every aspect of my consulting career; there is never a dull day and you are constantly challenged. Marquee clients, transformational work, exceptionally talented and diverse colleagues, inspiring leadership, a culture of innovation, building industry connections, constant learning and growing – what's not to love.

What does being recognized as a Leading Woman in Technology Consulting mean to you?

This recognition is humbling, as a validation of my dedicated focus to being a great partner for my clients, teams and firm. I'm also excited that this will serve as an example to many women consultants in my firm and beyond, to excel and strive to become a leader in tech consulting.
