What do you consider your greatest personal or professional achievement?

My greatest personal achievement is, without a doubt, building a loving home for my family. My greatest professional achievement has been transitioning from an employee into that of an entrepreneur. Leaving the comfort of a steady paycheck for the uncertainty of running a global consulting firm took a leap of faith – and more time and effort than I could have ever imagined. However, after fighting through all the challenges, I wouldn't have changed it for the world.

What advice would you give a professional just beginning a career in consulting?

When you're just starting out as a professional, volunteer for everything that is offered to you. Before they even tell you what the assignment is, throw your hand in the air. Gaining experience, even if it's not exactly in your career track, is the key to building wisdom, knowledge, and empathy – critical characteristics of a true professional.

What have you loved most about your consulting career?

The greatest part of being a consultant is the ongoing opportunity to learn. Every consulting project is the chance to gain firsthand knowledge of the global business environment. No two consulting engagements are ever the same and the scenery always changes. The opportunity to meet and interact with people from around the world, operating with various business cultures and customs, is also fascinating.

What's the best advice—personal or professional—you've ever received?

Don't overthink it. Just get started and ask probing questions as you go. And, don't be afraid to scrap everything and start over from time to time.

What does being honored as a Global Leader mean to you?

I believe that being a good leader means being a great teacher. As such, being recognized by my peers as a Global Leader signifies that the knowledge I am passing on to my colleagues, mentees, and clients is valuable. Therefore, this award inspires me to keep learning and to continue sharing lessons that can improve the overall condition of my family, friends, colleagues and clients.
