What do you consider your greatest personal or professional achievement?
I have led on some of the biggest and most complex Private Equity deals in Europe and helped plenty of clients complete landmark and complex transactions. Personally, I completed a charity challenge of cycling 4651km In 24 days in August 2018 along the original Tour de France route from 1968. It was a huge physical and mental challenge for our team, but very rewarding and resulted in raising £95k for the important cause – Harrison's Fund. This was a huge commitment but one of the most rewarding experiences personally.
What advice would you give a professional just beginning a career in consulting?
Quickly work out what the growth areas are, upskill if you need to, and focus your attention on that. The market is constantly changing so you need to move quickly to ensure that you're not jumping on board when the growth potential is lost. Specifically, knowing about data, analytics and ESG will stand you in good stead in the years to come.
What have you loved most about your consulting career?
The variety of client needs and issues that I have been solving. Private Equity and Sovereign Funds are notoriously demanding and fast-paced. I have had the opportunity to lead on some of the most complex and challenging projects in the world. It has been a privilege to be at the center of solving clients' most challenging problems.
What's the best advice—personal or professional—you've ever received?
To always put clients first. I learned early on to be relentless in positioning clients for the future and to act now for what is ahead.
What does being honored as a Global Leader mean to you?
It's a great honor and testimony to the quality work that our teams consistently delivered over the years. I hope it will inspire our people to see the results of our commitment to clients and dedication to delivering sustained outcomes.
