Sia Partners
Excellence in Innovation
Jean Trzcinski is a career consultant, and a lifelong learner with a dedicated focus on improving the global climate crisis. He started out building flue gas treatments for power plants to help capture the worst pollutants, which led him to determine that in order to make a real impact, he needed to focus on scale. That's when he joined Sia Partners, and developed a service line focused on reducing carbon emissions across multiple industries.
Through studies and analyses conducted by his team, the firm is able to identify 360-degree climate impacts, and develop intense, bespoke solutions targeted at reducing carbon in our atmosphere.
Today, Trzcinski is Global Lead of Sia Partners' Climate Analysis Center, which covers 26 locations with a portfolio of 50 offerings dedicated to climate, representing €45 million in annual revenue.
Perhaps not surprisingly, Trzcinski cites his efforts in addressing global climate change as his greatest professional achievement. From his beginnings helping individual power plants capture their pollutants to leading Sia Partners' Climate Analysis Center, Trzcinski said he quickly understood that being active at the leadership level of major companies was essential to drive meaningful impact.
As for what the recognition of being named a Global Leader in Consulting means to him and his firm, Trzcinski said he's "thrilled and honored," and thinks the award will help highlight the important work they're doing for the environment.
"I have a passion for consulting and for the environment. We have made incredible strides but have so much more work to do to reduce and then eliminate carbon here on earth. It is imperative for us all. Climate change and rising sea levels are a constant threat to humanity. As such, in my opinion there are few higher priorities. Being recognized as a Global Leader in Consulting highlights our progress as well as the importance of our work in carbon reduction," he says.
"Hopefully it will encourage others and enlist more on our cause. It may also show the commercial viability of consulting in this area. To our clients, it would underscore and validate the importance of their efforts in carbon mediation/reduction."
Q&A: What has been the biggest key to your success so far?
"It is all about engaging people. It has never been an easy task as people come from different backgrounds, different geographies and having different perspectives, navigating in different environments. The key is to find common ground during the relationships and share the underlying philosophy rather than trying pushing and enforcing visions or solutions. The end point is just to transform organizations for a better future by tailoring the speech and the approach to fit into the customer's culture. Only the results should matter: wasting or emitting less while creating more welfare and better value for customers, employees, community as a whole."
