In its third acquisition so far in 2021, Cognizant has added Magenic Technologies, a Minneapolis-based digital product engineering firm specializing in software, cloud development DevOps, experience design, and advisory.
The acquisition expands Cognizant's digital engineering footprint both in the US and in the Philippines.
Magenic, founded in 1995, has 475 employees across seven US offices and 350 employees based in Manila who will join the nearly 10,000 employees of Cognizant Softvision, a product engineering division formed out of Cognizant's 2018 acquisition of Austin-based Softvision. In September 2020, Cognizant acquired software product engineering firm Tin Roof, whose 250 Atlanta- and Dallas-based employees also joined Softvision.
"Magenic has exceptional software development and cloud modernization teams that will enhance our global engineering talent network and expertise," says Malcolm Frank, president, digital business and technology, Cognizant. "We continue to invest in digital engineering, a key priority as clients move from traditional application development to custom software to provide compelling customer experiences and differentiated productivity solutions."
The addition of Magenic is the latest effort by Cognizant to beef up its engineering and cloud services capabilities, marking the firm's third acquisition already in 2021, and its 12th since January 2020.
