Accenture will acquire Houston-based Myrtle Consulting Group in an effort to beef up their manufacturing and supply chain capabilities using new digitization methods aimed at producing and distributing goods more safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
Myrtle Consulting Group is an industrial operations consulting firm that partners with leading companies across consumer products, life sciences, chemicals, mining, and other heavy manufacturing industries. The Myrtle team will join Accenture Industry X, which focuses on helping clients improve operations at plants and factories.
Nigel Stacey, global lead of Accenture Industry X, says that "Cost, quality and safety remain a constant and rising challenge for manufacturing and operations leaders. They need to free untapped value across production sites and distribution centers, so they can invest in resilient and responsible operating models for manufacturing and supply chains that are future-proof and digital-enabled. This is what the combined skills of Accenture and Myrtle will help them achieve."
The acquisition will help Accenture expand its manufacturing and supply chain capabilities while strengthening the firm's ability to help clients through digital transformation efforts in these areas, including initial value assessments, operating model strategies, and new business processes and technology solutions.

Myrtle is also recognized as a National Minority Supplier Development Council Corporate Plus member, the purpose of which is to highlight minority-owned businesses that have demonstrated the capacity to execute national and international contracts for major corporations.
The Myrtle acquisition is the latest in a rash of manufacturing and technology acquisitions, including SALT Solutions in Germany, PLM Systems in Italy, Callisto Integration in Canada, Silveo in France, and Enterprise System Partners in Ireland.
