Dirk Pfitzer is a Senior Partner and Member of the Management Board at Porsche Consulting. He is the global lead of the Vertical Industrial Goods practice. In 2018 and 2019, together with his team, he steered Porsche Consulting to be rated the No. 1 consultancy for Industrial Goods by Brand eins Magazine.
Pfitzer counts that accomplishment among his biggest achievements. "I am very proud of helping to lead Porsche Consulting to be rated No. 1 for the sector "Machinery and Plant Engineering" in the most important German consultancy ranking," he says.
He is also extremely proud that he is part of the leadership team that grew Porsche Consulting with greater than 20 percent year-on-year growth over the last 10 years.
Pfitzer is the co-lead of the Horizontals Corporate Development and Digitalization & Innovation and in addition leads the Porsche Consulting Private Equity initiative focusing on value creation of portfolio companies.
He has over 19 years of professional experience in global consulting. He has managed growth stories as well as large transformations and turn arounds with his international clients. Dirk has an International Leadership Education in the USA, Spain and Germany.
As far as being recognized as a Global Leader in Consulting and what it mean to him, his firm and his clients, he says it indicated that "as a leading global consulting firm, we are able to serve our clients whereever their need is."
The Porsche Consulting management consultancy was founded in 1994 in response to the successful restructuring of the Porsche sports car maker.
Porsche had gained so much experience and knowledge from mastering a major crisis that it decided to make this expertise available to other companies. Four of its employees formed Porsche Consulting's initial team. Their small office in Zuffenhausen became a worldwide consultancy—with sites in Stuttgart, Hamburg, Munich, Milan, São Paulo, Atlanta, and Shanghai.
Now with 580 employees, many of whom are engineers and economists, Porsche Consulting continues to apply proven solutions from the automotive industry to other sectors. It helps its clients put strategies into practice. Along with its original emphasis on lean transformation, it focuses increasingly on digitalization.
