EY
Excellence in Influence
EY's Amy Brachio says she really likes to help people and a career in consulting allows her to help clients succeed in meeting their objectives. "Being a part of a professional services firm is also all about investing in the growth and development of our team members," she says. "I am constantly inspired and motivated by seeing our people grow and meet their individual objectives."
Brachio is the Global Risk and Performance Improvement Leader at EY where she leads EY Global Risk and Performance Improvement practices in Advisory. She has over 20 years of experience serving large, diversified organizations in the risk management practice.
Her expertise lies in advising clients on risk topics that are top-of-mind to boards and C-suite executives, including leading practices in cybersecurity risk management, internal audit, enterprise risk transformation and complying with rapidly escalating regulatory requirements.
Brachio is leading work with EY clients in building risk management into their strategic and transformational agendas to drive confidence in achieving strategic objectives and maintaining stakeholder trust.
"Working with teams and clients to collectively use our problem-solving ability, bring technology capabilities to create change" is what she enjoys most about consulting. "I also strive to support diversity and inclusion and advance female executives at EY and beyond."
Over the course of her career, Brachio says she is proud of being a role model for inclusive leadership through championing world class coaching, mentoring, sponsorship and feedback to empower EY teams to best serve clients, meet their goals, and bring the firm's values to life. "It is so fulfilling to see people that I have mentored and sponsored to do the same for others," she says.
More recently, she is proud of the fact EY consulting teams have been receiving amazing feedback from analysts around Business Consulting, Strategic Risk Management, Innovation, Digital and more. "That is in recognition of how our teams are truly providing value to our clients every day," she says. "On the personal side, my older daughter started at NYU and my younger daughter started 11th grade."
As far as being recognized as a Global Leader, she says it makes her proud of her professional achievements. "We all work very hard and often spend more time focusing on what we could do better as opposed to celebrating what we have achieved," she says.
The award means a lot to her clients as many of them have worked with her for years, she says. "We have grown together as we advanced together in our careers," Brachio says. "For EY, it is meaningful to be recognized as a firm that lives our purpose of Building a Better Working World."
Q&A: What's been the biggest factor to your success?
"Throughout my career, I have been relentlessly focused on building strong relationships and being willing to apply my experiences to solve new problems. Those two factors have allowed me bring diverse talent from across EY to help our clients solve their toughest problems."
